Upcoming European Trips

We are very excited to offer two wonderful European trips. The first will be a Classroom Abroad experience in the south of France, taking place September/October 2012. The second will be an Illuminated Manuscript book tour taking place in the spring of 2013. Details about the manuscript tour will be posted at a later date, but read on for information about the Classroom Abroad . . .

We will be studying calligraphy, manuscript gilding and page layout. Accommodations and classroom/studio space will be at La Napoule in the lovely town of Mandelieu. Be sure to visit La Napoule's website to take a virtual tour of the facility - it's gorgeous - situated directly on the Mediterranean.

The photo at left shows the 14th century Château de La Napoule - the stone structure dominating the photo. This is where the Classroom Abroad will take place. The red-roofed building to the left is also part of La Napoule. It is called Villa Margurite and some accommodations will be in that building.

The curriculum will be calligraphy, manuscript gilding, and page layout. The mornings will be spent in the studio, with afternoons free to continue studio work independently or explore the gorgeous surroundings.

At least one day-trip to Monaco and Monte Carlo will be part of the itinerary.

Round trip airfare from Boston is included in the trip cost.

The photo at right shows Château de La Napoule from the water - it is situated directly on the Mediterranean.

There are two itinerary options. Option 1 is a weeklong stay at Château de La Napoule, leaving Boston Sunday, September 23 and returning Monday, October 1, 2012. Option 2 will be Classroom Abroad PLUS a three-day trip to Paris preceding the Classroom Abroad. Those dates are Thursday, September 20 through Monday, October 1, 2012.

Pricing is as follows:

La Napoule only: $4100 per person, including roundtrip airfare from Boston.

Paris and La Napoule: $5100 per person, single; $4770 per person Double (prices include roundtrip airfare from Boston).

Single Occupancy: $5,000 per person, initial deposit of $3,000 must be received by March 23, 2012.

Double Occupancy: $4770 per person, initial deposit of $2770 per person must be received by March 23, 2012. The second of three payments due May 31. Final payment due July 31, 2012.
